Deer Stalking Conditions

1. Each stalker shall be accompanied and must comply with any instruction that the stalker may give. The stalker remains in sole charge of the stalking at all times. No animal will be shot at unless the stalker gives permission. Stalkers must be reasonably fit.
   
2. All arrangements for stalking are made in good faith but the Estate offers no guarantees as to the number of outings, which will depend on weather conditions, or the number and quality of heads available.
   
3. Stalkers will be required to:
Fire a group of sighting shots, before commencing stalking, to within 10 cm
at 100 metres range to the satisfaction of the Ranger in charge or other authorised persons.
   
4. To produce for inspection a current valid Firearm Certificate and third party insurance cover to the value of at least £1,000,000.
   
5. Indemnify the Estate against any loss, injury or damage. BASe, BDS membership acceptable.
Any stands, hides or high seats provided by the Estate will be used by the stalker at his own risk.
   
6. If an injured deer is encountered it will be shot irrespective of its effect on the stalk.
   
7. If a deer is wounded stalking will stop until it has been despatched or otherwise accounted for.
   
8. The carcase will be the property of the Estate. The carcase may be purchased at current market value.
   
9. The Estate reserves the right to suspend or withdraw facilities at any time and its decision in this respect is final.
   
10. Any additional charges for penalties must be paid before departure.

12. If a deer is shot by the stalker in such a way that the amount of usable venison is substantially reduced (or the carcase cannot be recovered within twelve hours) the Estate reserves the right to charge him the market price for the carcase which then becomes his property.
   
13. If a deer is badly shot, the Estate insists that the stalker pays for the carcas, which then becomes the stalkers property.
